Quality English completed its fourteenth and fifteenth missions in October. We stayed Kyiv for three days in which visits were made by members of the QE group to Agents in their offices. The British Council and to the British Embassy Visa Section were also visited and the main topic of conversation was the new Points Based System for UK Visas. Having two members of the EnglishUK Board with us meant that there was plenty of information to present and to discuss. The main focus of the visit to Kyiv was the one day meeting with invited agents held at the Hotel Rus. Sixteen QE schools were represented. The group then travelled on to Warsaw where another QE Event was held. The comfortable surroundings (and excellent food) at the Jan lll Sobieski Hotel made an excellent backdrop to a second successful day. Agents reported how valuable it was to meet these independent schools under one roof, and to learn how the schools are selected and how quality is checked. They were also interested to learn how they could become more closely involved in QE by becoming QE Agents. The QE schools represented included schools from the UK, Canada, Ireland and Malta. Cities in which QE has run missions, from 2004 to 2008, are: Rome, Milan, Madrid (2), Moscow (2), Germany (4 centres), Budapest, Bratislava, Prague, Istanbul, Izmir, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Bogotá, Mexico City and Tokyo.
